Perhaps the final exam period has left you with some disheartening realizations. You are not quite as proficient with exponents as you need to be for next semester. Or maybe the comma splice is causing you problems in writing class. Or you just can’t get those Spanish verb conjugations down.
You want to spend a little time over break getting those pesky problems out of the way. Well, here are some websites that will provide some instruction and practice.
Math:
This site is geared towards many of the textbooks used at NSCC. It provides a whole series of explanations and exercises to review your math skills and prepare for next semester.
Provides explanations and practice exercises from basic math through algebra.

Research
The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)
This is one of the best sites I know. It has been around for a long time and is being constantly updated. It is complete with information from grammar to research writing. Highly recommended.
Foreign Languages
This is another great site. It has tutorials and short classes in several languages, including Spanish and French. There are also videos that allow you to listen to the language as spoken by native speakers. Highly recommended.
Also, you may not realize that if you have paid your tuition for next semester, you can check out library books and tapes. You just need to show proof of payment at the circulation desk.

Another good resource for academic review is the library database: Learning Express Library. There are practice exams for education, nursing, law enforcement as well as the TOEFL, GRE, and GED. There are also reviews of math and grammar.
