Faye,

Thank you for such common sense in a practical issue of great importance to all of us. Effective communication is the lifeblood of any meaningful relationship.

Now, if you could very soon address the issue of how an instructor can communicate effectively in a general education class in which students have busy schedules, other interests, and a cell phone in their laps or behind a bag on the desk or table at which they sit.

Great advice! That's one of the reasons I enjoy cycling to and from work everyday. It gets me outside enjoying nature. I don't have to wait until I get home to go outside and enjoy nature. I think it helps keep me healthy. A good book for finding scenic routes to bicycle is: Bicycling Middle Tennessee. For those that like to hike try: Middle Tennessee on Foot. The library has both of these books. I enjoy your Motivator.

Good advice. My philosophy on life is that "life is good and don't worry about the small stuff". I get that from my dad.

Faye,

This issue is one of the most important ones you have posted and a great reminder that the material that threatens the false "security" of one group might well be the kind of reading material that would stir and move the general public in the right direction or at least sensitize the public to one or more sides of an important issue. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh, yes. We should definitely continue banning books. That's what makes kids read them!! When I was in high school, Brave New World was banned by many libraries. Every student in my class managed to get a copy and read it!

My mom used to say, "Let children read anything. If they're old enough to understand it, they can make up their own minds. If they're too young for the material, they won't understand it anyway."

Ride a bicycle or walk instead of driving a car everywhere it will reduce your carbon footprint, and maybe also reduce your sick days.
