You’ve followed us as we tried to lose weight (quite pitiful) and as we developed our life lists (a little better). For academic year, 2011-2012, we are taking on a series of monthly improvement projects. Watch this video for the basic process.
Here’s what will happen. On the first Wednesday of each month, I’ll post the month’s challenge and then updates each Wednesday after that. As usual, I’ll force various library staff members to participate, but I’d love to have others chime in with their experiences as well.
Okay, so here’s the challenge for August: READ A BOOK!
What else would you expect from a group of librarians? Still, this is the perfect time for it. Students, you have that small break between summer and fall to read something fun. Parents, once school starts back, you’ll be busier than ever, so take time to read something that interests you. And same thing for faculty, once classes start, you’ll be reading course things and student papers. So take an opportunity to read something just for pleasure.
I’ve chosen my book. It’s The English Civil War: Papists, Gentlewomen, Soldiers, and Witchfinders in the Birth of Modern Britain by Diane Purkiss.
So now choose yours!
